San Diego (2 more reasons to love...)

Posted on Nov 16th, 2008 by TimeToShine : Corrinacorrina TimeToShine
So I sampled these "GoodOnYa" bars at SF Green Festival yesterday, chatted briefly with founder and friend.. and was inspired to post; that's two hits for San Diego in the course of a month. First came BIOMIMICRY:

BIONEERS CONFERENCE (Oct 2008): City of San Diego were tabling...; set to become the "Biomimicry hub of the nation" - this is a good thing(!): we learn from nature how to survive... and, as mother of Biomimcry tells us, the fossils around us are the reminder of the ones that didn't make it....

"...For the City of San Diego, supporting the cultivation of biomimicry falls under the Mayor’s Cleantech Initiative. Clean technology is an emerging sector featuring a range of products, services and processes that harness renewable materials and energy sources, reducing the depletion of natural resources and reducing or eliminating pollution and waste to create sustainable and secure energy sources. Clean technology encompasses advancements in solar power, wind power, hybrid vehicles, fuel cell technology, tidal and wave power, biodiesel, green building materials and water treatment systems." http://www.enn.com/press_releases/2565

THEN CAME GOODONYA....

“Every question you will ever have, the answer you will find in nature”  Bryce Courtney, The power of one

GoodOnYa founder writes: "I founded this company in 2001 after a playing field hockey for the US National Team for 11 years. As an Olympic athlete healthy food was obviously a big part of my life. When I retired I was ready to be in control of my own life. I started with just one store, and with the help and support of many people along the way have ended up with 4 locations.

The GoodOnYa bar is a natural extension of the deli... This bar is unlike any other on the market. Our motto is “Every Ingredient Matters” ...Our bar weighs 57g, and when you see one you will notice the size. There are bars out there that are 3x as big and weigh 40g...It’s not a protein bar, a fiber bar, a balance bar, a snack bar, it’s a nutrition bar...
